It is considered one of the most prominent projects of the phase, and it will have a significant impact on various aspects of life in Iraq, its future, security, and the well-being of its people. It will also have a significant impact on the region’s economy, as it will launch unprecedented integration based on economic models stemming from the needs of our local markets and their relationship with international markets and communities. It is not just a highway, but will become a bridge connecting the peoples of the region and their cultures. Based on the Iraqi government’s vision for sustainable development, it is working to implement it through government plans and in parallel with the presence of multiple companies, both private, local, and international, and the conclusion of official government agreements with neighboring and friendly countries to create an economic and investment base to serve Iraq’s vision for sustainable development. This vision is evident in the development road project through transportation development projects, by establishing a road connecting the southern Iraqi port of Faw to the Turkish border and from there to Europe. This transportation project includes, on the land side, the construction of a modern railway to serve freight and passenger transport. Baghdad witnessed the signing ceremony of a quadripartite memorandum of understanding between Iraq, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE, aiming to cooperate on the Strategic Development Road project.
